SPRINGFIELD    Democratic lawmakers are lining up once again to become the next lieutenant governor nominee.

The lawmakers had a shot in the primary election, but all of them lost to newcomer Scott Lee Cohen.

Cohen dropped out Sunday due to a previous domestic violence allegation.

State Representative Art Turner thinks his three decades of experience as a lawmaker give him a leg up on other contenders.

But State Senator Rickey Hendon believes he is the candidate that best reflects what Illinois needs.

Democratic party leaders led by House Speaker Michael Madigan will decide who the next nominee will be.

No deadline has been set on when a nominee will be chosen.
