SPRINGFIELD – Just days after saying he is not in Springfield to be a pal to lawmakers, Governor Pat Quinn said he would not be negotiating over the plan to expand gambling in Illinois.
Quinn told reporters in Chicago, he's already told lawmakers he will accept five new casinos but not slots at horse racing tracks across the state.
Skokie Democrat Lou Lang says Quinn's take it or leave it stance is not surprising, and not helpful

Lang says he still likes Quinn, even if he doesn't always agree with him.
Mike Lawrence, most recently with the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute, says if Quinn can't find a way to work with lawmakers, the legislature may find a way to work around him.
