SPRINGFIELD — Gov. Pat Quinn wants to deflate ballooning Medicaid costs with higher cigarette taxes. He also wants to terminate some health-care services for more than 300,000 Illinoisans.
“If we don’t deal with this problem right now, it’ll just get worse,” he said. “It’ll be billions and billions of dollars out of balance. We can’t afford that.”
